Since I'm still in a rage/rant about the media...2012-02-15T11:01:00.245-05:00
before the tv execs say enough is enough with our vile media? I mean the hippie movement faded out because eventually people went on to have families and realized sexin' everyone up and blowin' your brain up on drugs wasn't exactly the most healthy thing. So when will anyone in media's control say enough is enough this media is just as bad for us. It is shaping a generation of children who get no childhood. They come from child to adult really quickly when they see their role models gyrating on stage. I am adamant about shielding my child from television. We pay $15.00 a month for cable because I have only a small handful of channels on my television allowed. Basically just local channels. Everything else is blocked. I know what everyone says... Tv doesn't raise your child you do.. Blah blah blah. I know. I get it. It still upsets me that the media is so vile. I am writing this with sadness in my heart because I should've followed my intuition but I allowed me and Sassy to watch the Grammy's together. I shouldn't have done it. She is almost 13 and getting into music a little bit. I try and I buy Christian music that is more pop-ish but she doesn't like it so much. She's not allowed to listen to a lot of music and she knows why. She will easily tell you that Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Kesha, and many others are horrible role models and she doesn't want to be like them. But she still hears their songs sometimes like when we ride with others. Where do you draw the line in protecting your child?2012-02-13T09:01:00.322-05:00
So once a week I do a 12 hour shift. 8a-8p and I work with a sweet 95year old angel lady. The other 2 days a week I work 7-8 hour shiftswith a 96yo what you could say is the opposite of an angel. O_oAnyway I have to bring my meals with the angel patient and I don'thave to for the opposite of an angel patient (she pays $ for us tohave food to eat) so sometimes I forget about bringing food to theangel patient's house.I always prepare my meals/leftovers the night before and take them inthe morning. Well I forgot this time and I will usually stop at agrocery store and pick something up. I didn't have time this go aroundso I had to stop at the royal farms near her house to try to get mealsfor my 12 hour shift (mostly lunch and dinner). I got a big salad, anda cheese stick. That was gonna be my whole day's food. I'd hadbreakfast at home in the AM.So lunchtime rolls around and we're ready to eat lunch when I realizethe pre-packaged salad comes with creamy dressing. Yuck!! I only dovinaigrettes I say to myself. So I grab some salt and pepper and oliveoil and I season it myself. ***PUKE!***Spoiled oil. Have you ever tasted spoiled oil? Its unbearable. Uuuuuggggghhhhh. So I order some wings and a salad from a pizzeria and feel gross aftergorging on the fast food meal. Which by the way was disgusting. The saladleaves (romaine) were huge like only cut in half and soaking wet frombeing washed. Annoyed! My angel patient is like a sweet un-tainted old Catholic angel. Sheloves Jesus. She is so kind and sweet. One time I took her to apodiatrist and he was so rude and unkind to her I about lost it. Iflipped my lid. Needless to say she will never go to him. I'm verydeeply impassioned about protecting the elderly, children, and thementally ill. Everyone else can pack sand. ;)Ok that was a random topic.(image) [...]2012-02-11T09:36:00.200-05:00

So. I'm a bag lady. Reason being is in my line of work I have a lot of down-time, which by the way leaves a lot of time for planning and lists. I do homecare nursing which means I work in my patient's homes taking care of the elderly. I have 2 patients right now, both women, one is 96 and the other is 95. Totally opposite personalities. Both pay me well and I am blessed. They are both 24 hour cases which means they have around the clock care. My 96yo has 2 nurses on at all times. She's big money like that if you only knew the amount of people she employs just to keep her estate going well. Let's just say she's a multi-billionaire and donates millions of dollars to charity. Have you seen the movie Delores Claiborne? It's kind of like that. 6 pins Delores, 6 pins.2012-02-06T09:12:00.139-05:00

I am a vitamin, holistic, hippieish fanatic. Being in the medical field you'd think I'd be the opposite but I am not a fan of modern medicine. I take a ton of vitamins and herbs each day. I'm pretty knowledgeable about the different kinds of herbal remedies and ailments going on in the world. I can also walk to a natural vitamin market where the lady who owns it is like a master of herbal remedies. You go in with any problem and she's got the herb to fix it!! :)
